🚘 Three cars – in the garage and behind each other, where “Chalet Maithili” is written on the garage shutter (left side of the chalet).

🚙 One car – directly across the road, where “Chalet Maithili” is also marked.

The village is nestled at the base of the Swiss Alps 🏔 and is a popular tourist destination for outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing, and skiing 🎿.

Lauterbrunnen has also been featured in several films and television shows 🎬, including On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, The Fall, and The Grand Tour. Its unique setting, with towering cliffs and cascading waterfalls, makes it a perfect location for filmmakers capturing breathtaking natural beauty.

🚗 Parking details:

If there is one car – you can park where “Chalet Rameli” is written, on the opposite side of our chalet/road.

If there are two cars – you can park on the left side of our chalet, the first garage adjacent to Chalet Maithili, towards Hotel Jungfrau. If in doubt, please call us.

🗑 Garbage disposal: Get out of the house, turn right down the road towards Staubbach waterfall, walk about 80m, and you will see garbage deposit bins down the carpark.

🧹 As a token of appreciation to our housekeeping team, guests are requested to leave the apartment in order, basic clean, with all used towels and bed covers placed on the floor. Please also remember to throw garbage and leftovers outside!

1. Staubbach Falls – The landmark of Lauterbrunnen, plunging almost 300 metres beside the village.
2. Trümmelbach Falls – Ten powerful glacial waterfalls flowing inside the mountain. This is one of the valley’s most impressive paid attractions.
3. Lauterbrunnen Village – Traditional Swiss chalets, the historic church and beautiful views towards Staubbach Falls.
4. Lauterbrunnen–Stechelberg Valley Walk – An easy, mostly flat route past waterfalls, farms and Alpine scenery; also suitable for families and pushchairs.
5. Mürren – A beautiful car-free mountain village with magnificent views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
6. Gimmelwald – A small, peaceful and traditional mountain village below Mürren.
7. Wengen – Another car-free resort above Lauterbrunnen, reached by scenic mountain railway.

For a one-day visit, I recommend: Staubbach Falls → village walk → Trümmelbach Falls → Stechelberg → cable car to Gimmelwald and Mürren.
